The Chief Medical Director of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Makurdi, Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, has promised to support the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist of Nigeria, BSUTH branch.
Dr. Hwande made the promise when officials of the Association paid him a courtesy call on Monday 18th March, 2024 at his office.
He assured the Association of his commitment to providing all that is needed for the smooth operation of the hospital, stressing that his goal is to ensure continuity in the provision of efficient health care services to patients.
The CMD also promised to fix the AMLAN Lounge to provide place for relaxation of members at their leisure time and charged them to utilize the additional man power through the recent recruitment exercise for optimal performance and encouraged them to live by the ethics of their profession.
He however lamented the negative attitude to work by some of their members and called on them to desist forthwith as such attitude was already portraying them in bad light.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mrs. Alice Onah, said the mission of their visit was to identity with the CMD on his appointment and to express appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Alia for appointing him as the CMD of the hospital.
Mrs. Alice appreciated the CMD for his developmental strides so far within the short period he assumed office, particularly for improving of power supply within the hospital, and for enhancing the welfare of staff the hospital.
In their separate remarks, the State Chairman of the association Dr. Paul Abba and the branch Assistant Secretary, Mr. Terna Yongoikyo, all thanked the CMD for providing the enabling environment for them to discharge their duties efficiently with assurance to put in their best.
In another development, the Chief Medical director also took delivery of Oxygen Regulators donated to the hospital by the State Ministry of Health and Human Services.
Receiving the donations, Dr. Hwande thanked the Commissioner of the Ministry, Dr. Yanmar Ortese for the serial donations the ministry has made to the hospital.
